My wednesday

Today was a little bit different wednesday. Some good things, other not so good. lately i have felt more and more like a youth pastor and i am loving it! i love working all wednesday and doing different things for wildfire. Today i put together a list of things for small group leaders to with your group and its completely free! So i think this will start lots of good ministry outside the church. Wildfire tonight was a little crazy, it wierd how every so often it just seems that everything is just off and the kids are just in a different world. I think there is a mixture of things that add to this recipe as well. Its hard not having a steady drummer to get the energy going. I want our worship to be like it was a year ago where the whole room was jumping, hands held high, and not groups of kids in circles. I dont know exactly what it is but i think a talk on worship would be something good for out students. Next week i am going to be talking about my past and giving advice to kids about not going down the same road i did, or taking the next exit and getting off that road! haha im praying that kids that really need to hear will be there and that God will use my bad past for good.

Camp was a ton of fun, at first i was very nervous because of the group of kids that were going to be in my cabin, just a mixture of crazy kids and quite kids. But in the end i think they all experienced something new and had a good time. by far my favorite night was the experience, the kids seemed really into it, and worship i thought was the best set nick and the team had ever done. Just the songs they did were perfect for after the experiance. It was cool seeing so many kids playing disc golf and having kids come up to me telling me that disc golf is their new favorite sport :) and btw linda riley is a natural disc golfer! she did sooo good! The activites were a lot of fun as well, earth ball was my favorite! Overall camp was a lot of fun and we will be telling more stories tonight at wildfire :)

My wednesday

This Wednesday was probably the busiest one ever since i started doing the internship. Mostly because of all the camp prep, but things are coming along very good and im very excited for this weekend. Wildfire was a good one as well. I really think a lot of kids are getting very excited, i can feel the excitement through all my guys :) My small group tonight was the best it has been probably all year! For real, just the fun aspect of it, and also the turn into serious, my guys seemed into it and really focused. It helps A TON when i have kurt helping me in group. After wildfire i went over to Chelse's new house and checked it out again, it has finally hit me that they are moving into a new home and i will never go to the other one ever again. I still wonder if at the beggaining of their time living at the new house i will accidentally drive to the old house haha. And as always, i love hot tubs with Kurt after. It's a amazing way to relax after a busy day, and evertime i do, i sleep amazing. Well if i bring my laptop and i get internet at eagle fern i will blog while im there, but if not, i will tell you all about it after.

Since my last blog

Life has been pretty busy, School has been busy with 3 papers and 2 major tests in the past week, stress has been high :( But i feel that i did decent on the tests and the papers as well. This past Wednesday was a decent wildfire. Group is always much easier with a co-leader (Kurt) And holly did great for her first talk, hope she gets up there again. speaking of getting up there again i have been thinking of doing another talk 2 weeks after camp on being LOST! Talking about how students are lost in this world and in life today. Im very excited about it and hope that God will give me the words to say and that students will be found :)
Also on Wednesday me and kurt went to joes (always want to call it GI Joes) and replaced my windshield wipers. well as we were doing this Kurt pulled the wiper off and the metal part that connects to the wiper snapped back and cracked my windshield :( I was pretty pissed but didnt swear :) But I know he will help me out with getting a new one.
Im very excited about camp coming up as it's just 5 days away! Kurt is going to be my leader and thank God because i looked at my list of guys, and wow, do i have a crazy cabin :( but im sure we can get to know them better and get them to share about their story. until next time..

Love dont cost a thing!

Today was a very special day for Chelse and I. As of today, we have been dating for one whole year! We have had our ups and downs like every relationship, but after tonight, i just keep on loving her more and more :) I have never dated anyone for this long before and either has she, so we both know that our relationship is very special. To celebrate we went to Chang's Mongolian grill! We both love that place so much, even if it's 13 bucks for a dinner, its sooo good! And on top of tonight, morp is on saturday, but i dont know if we are going because she never asked me ;) shes wierd about that stuff, but i will let you know how morp goes on saturday. After a day like today, im so happy to have a great girl in my life :)

Day of ministry

For those of you who don't know, every Wednesday i come into the church from about 10am-9pm to get experience in the field of middle school ministry. This week is a busy one getting ready for camp and making sure everything is ready to go. But i am super excited about it and feel that God is going to do some amazing things this year at LOVE WINS. And they have a sick disc golf course! :) This year instead of doing t-shirts, we did disc golf discs for every kid with the wildfire logo and the date of the camp and everything, and they were less then half the cost of t-shirts! But aside from the discs I'm more excited about the relationships and time to help the kids experience true love.
Me and Kurt also went to lunch today with a student who has cancer and is going through chemo. It was very tough to see his dad and see the hurt he is going threw. I hope that me and kurt can continue the relationship with him an help him through all this.
Wildfire today was very hard for me. every once in a while i will have one of those nights were i feel very discouraged and feel like im never going to connect with my kids. And to put the cherry on top of everything, for the first time very, i had a student throw up during the game, not fun. (eric will defiantly be talking to me about this one) But im excited for camp to give my students the jump start they need, i just hope it will last.

1st Blog!

Well after much time of thinking about it and going back and forth, i made a blog! Now that I'm getting older and life is getting more fun and interesting, i thought that it would be cool to start blogging and let others now what is happening in the world of Austin Nealeigh, hope that everyone enjoys reading my blog enough to look at it more than just once a year :)
